Surgery Update

Michael is out of surgery and recovering nicely in the PACU while waiting to get a bed in the ICU. Dr Liau said the surgery went well. She was able to get the majority of the tumor. The initial pathology confirmed that it is either a grade 3 or 4 Glioma. We will have final pathology in about 2 weeks and will then meet with his neuro oncologist. Dr Liau said that Michael is “such a pleasant man” 😉 He woke up from surgery and wanted to hold her hand. Apparently he was charming the nurses too! His first request was to get his catheter out!😊 Will update later once we can see him! Thank you for all the prayers❤️❤️❤️

Look at that brother of mine…still with the thumbs up in ICU right after brain surgery! So proud of you bro and as I’ve said before, you and Lori and those precious kids literally have an army of supporters from across the country cheering you on (and many thanks to my classmate Cindy, the prayer warrior and cancer survivor, for being among them). Praise God for what he has done and will continue to do in your life. You are so loved and cherished!!

    To the Coulson Clan:
Although we have not met, I am a member of Pacific Coast Church and have been receiving the prayer requests for Michael. I recently beat throat cancer and was blessed to feel the true power of prayer from my church family and friends. I wanted to reach out and let you know that I am praying for Michael and the family and will continue to pray that God will give Michael continued strength and comfort and that he will work through the Doctors to eliminate the cancer. Praise God for a successful surgery!

I’m so happy to hear that surgery went well and Michael’s recovery will be next. I was flying home to New Jersey from CO, while Mike was in the operating room. It was tough being out of touch. But thankfully, Mike’s Mom Donna and sister Leslie had the updates waiting for me on my arrival. So very very thankful. God speed dear Nephew.

    Hi Michael,

I am so sorry for all that you are going through. It is so beautiful to see you surrounded by so much love and care from friends and family. I don’t think I’ve seen you since I was maybe 4 years old? My dad (Mark Staal) let me know how you were doing and I just wanted to write to say hello, to wish you the absolute very best, to send my prayers and angels to be with you.

My dad reminded me of how you played goalie with me at Uncle Chuck’s house when I was 4 yrs old – little paper triangle footballs that you flick into the goal of the opponent’s hands. I’ve loved that game since!!! Thank you for that fun day.

    Lots of love,
    Kai
